In his 2016 commencement speech at Howard University, President Barack Obama discussed what is needed to achieve change. Read and discuss the handout presenting excerpts from his speech. As you read the speech, annotate and choose three sentences that stand out to you. On page 2 explain why you chose that quote—why it resonated with you, what it means to you, etc. We will debrief at the start of class Tuesday focusing on what President Obama said was necessary to achieve change.
